John 17:3 (NIV)
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
There is an interesting difference between "immortal" and "eternal". Immortality relates to length of life, and eternal relates to both length and quality of life. Living ‘infinitely’ is attributed to immortality, while living with the knowledge of God is attributed to eternity.
Though it is difficult for finite mind to understand, various people tried to define ‘infinity’ with reference to Time, Space, energy etc.,. Through out history, people tried to understand what is beyond that? and what is before this?
But what is quality of life? Since Life is a gift from God, quality of life comes with the knowledge and relationship with GOD. This deep relationship with God brings love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
